Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof were married on October 11, 2003 in Palm Springs, California. The couple chose the Two Bunch Palms Resort to hold their three-day celebration. It was where they spent their first weekend away as a couple.
The 85 guests in attendance included Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen and Neil Patrick Harris.
The couple exchanged vows under two trees with intertwined branches, a place they chose as symbolizing growing together. The trees surrounding the ceremony were decorated with strands of Tibetan bells, liquid silver, white orchid garlands and thousands of white beads by Rob Smith of Laurels Custom Flora and Events. The bride described the wedding as “elegant bohemian.”
Following the ceremony, a lakeside reception was decorated with white twinkle lights, hung from trees, that changed color after each dinner course. The Patina Group catered the meal of autumn pumpkin salad, squash and pomegranate. For dessert, Perfect Endings created a four-tier wedding cake adorned with red, pink and yellow roses.
A 16-piece orchestra from West Coast Music played classical music while guests dined.
The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Over the Rainbow” before breaking into “No Tengo Dinero” by Los Umbrellos. The latter was the first song they danced to on the set of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” the show where they met.
For the guests’ entertainment, the fun loving couple also had a photo booth, trampoline and Indonesian wedding bed on the island in the middle of the pond.
The couple honeymooned in Tahiti and Bora Bora.
