Mt Pleasant, South Carolina
Blake Lively married Ryan Reynolds in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina on September 9, 2012.
The wedding took place in front of 70 guests at Boone Hall Plantation.
Planned by Tara Guérard of Soiree, the wedding was an intimate, personalized party in a rustic barn. The decor was Hamptons style with simple flowers, benches and chaise lounges for seating.
The bride wore a one-of-a-kind Marchesa couture bridal ball gown with a hand-draped silk tulle bodice adorned with crystal and rose gold embroidery. Her bouquet, by Kate Berry of Martha Stewart Weddings, included pink jasmine, Andromeda, dusty miller and blushing bride hydrangea dipped in gold glitter to play up the embroidery in the wedding dress.
She walked down the aisle as a choir of children, from First Baptist Church, sang “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli.
The bridesmaids wore blush-colored silk chiffon Marchesa gowns with crystal embroidered detail and shoes by Christian Louboutin.
The groom and groomsmen donned Burberry suits with custom leather suspenders by Christopher Bailey.
During the ceremony, the couple exchanged rings by Lorraine Schwartz and personal vows.
A fun-filled carnival hour and elegant reception followed where Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine performed three songs, including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” for guests.
Mike Lata of local sustainable restaurant, Fig, catered the sit down dinner.
For dessert, a vanilla–and-sour-cream wedding cake with peach-apricot preserves and Earl Grey–milk-chocolate buttercream made by Maggie Austin Cake was served.
Guests also enjoyed a dessert table including mini chocolate bundt cakes filled with chocolate ganache, artisanal popsicles by King of Pops, a s’mores bar by local coffeehouse Bakehouse, coffee-and-cream espresso beans, blueberry cheesecake tartlets, lemon tarts, fruit jellies and mini strawberry shortcakes.
The newlyweds honeymooned at the Little Inn of Washington in Virginia.
