Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves were married at their home in Austin, Texas on June 9, 2012.
Guests including Reese Witherspoon, Kenny Chesney and Woody Harrelson were invited to a three day celebration where they spent the weekend camping in luxury tents on the property.
A hospitality tent was set up with food, tequila and beer, and games such a horseshoes and bocce ball were played. Personalized beer koozies with the couple’s name and wedding date were also passed out.
The wedding ceremony took place on Saturday, June 9 at sunset in a tent erected on the property.
Camila wore a beaded lace wedding gown by Brazilian designer Ducarmo Castelo Blanco and carried a bouquet of cattleya orchids and artichoke flowers. Matthew wore a three-piece Dolce & Gabanna tux and walked down the aisle to “Ai Du” by Ali Farka Toure.
The couple’s children, Levi and Vida, served as flower girl and ring bearer.
The Catholic ceremony was officiated by Father Christian Leisy. Matthew whispered his vows in Camila’s ear and brought her to tears.
During the ceremony, John Mellencamp sang psalms set to original music and the couple exchanged wedding bands by Kathy Rose with symbols meaningful them.
An outdoor reception followed held among twinkling white lights in the trees. The couple shared their first dance to “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis.
For dinner, the meal included Brazilian churrascaria by Estancia and for dessert, a red velvet wedding cake decorated with the flags of Texas and Brazil was served.
The following day, the newlyweds hosted a barbeque with a Texan crawfish boil by Guy Fieri.
