Avril Lavigne married Chad Kroeger on July 1, 2013. The gothic theme wedding capped off a three-day celebration in the South of France.
The Canadian couple tied the knot on Canada Day at Chateau de la Napoule, a medieval castle near Cannes.
Avril wore a black tulle Monique Lhuillier wedding dress for the candlelit ceremony. She accessorized with a black lace-edged veil attached to a jeweled headband.
She walked down an aisle lined with red roses and flickering black candles.
The couple said their vows under an altar of red roses by Parisian florist Jeff Leatham. They exchanged wedding bands by Toronto based Berani Jewelery Designs.
Following the vows, a reception was held where the newlyweds shared their first dance to a song they wrote together, “If I Said That I Loved You.”
They later cut into a four-tiered black wedding cake adorned with red and black roses.
Just before midnight, a fireworks show was set off over the water set to the Coldplay song “Paradise.” The newlyweds partied until 6am dancing to songs spun by a DJ.
They spent their wedding night at the Eden Roc hotel and honeymooned in Portofino.
