Niecy Nash has announced the TLC Network will televise her May wedding to engineer Jay Tucker. In a two-hour special, Nash will be assisted in finding the perfect dress and picking a venue.
“I am a woman who does not have the bride gene,” Nash says. “No bridezilla here! I haven’t been planning a wedding since I was three. I have to go to the experts to say, ‘What am I supposed to do here?’ And me and my mother watch ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ religiously. So I’m really looking forward to it.”
Nash’s first marriage lasted 16 years and ended in 2007. Part of her reason for televising the wedding, she says, is to give back to fans and show them second chances at love are possible.
“I said to Jay, ‘I would like to share this experience with them.’ I want them to know at the end of the day [that] love is possible a second – sometimes even a third – time around. You can get another chance.”
Nash’s bridal party will include Sherri Shepherd, Wendy Raquel Robinson, and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph as the matron of honor.
