“Survivor: China” castmates Jaime Dugan and Erik Huffman were married on April 4, 2009 in Charleston, South Carolina. The couple were the winners of an $80,000 wedding courtesy of the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The 6 p.m. ceremony took place on the croquet lawn at Wild Dunes Resort. In attendance were 150 guests including “The Amazing Race” contestants Marisa Axelrod and Brooke Jackson who served as bridesmaids.
The bride walked down the aisle on the arm of her father. She wore a strapless dress by Ulla-Maija and a pocahontas necklace by Felice Designs. The groom wore a khaki suit with a calla lily boutonnierre. His groomsmen wore bow ties with the Palmetto state flag.
The 30-minute Christian ceremony took place overlooking the ocean. “Survivor: China’s” Leslie Nease read scripture, and a friend of the couple’s sang “God Bless the Broken Road.”
Following the vows, a Charleston-themed reception was held. Wedding planner Sara Cavallon of Something to Celebrate incorporated ironwork into elements of decor. Iron gates were placed around the room woven with floral arrangements of bear grass, roses, peonies, calla lilies and fiddleheads.
For dinner, three food stations were set up including fried turkey, Chinese food served in takeout containers, and a low-country menu of fried green tomatoes, mac and cheese and shrimp and grits.
For dessert, the couple cut into a four-tier wedding cake by Ashley Bakery decorated with a black and white iron gate pattern. Flavors included hummingbird, sour cream pound cake and carrot cake with white almond buttercream frosting.
As the evening went on, guests took pictures in a photo booth and wrote messages in a guestbook. On their way out, they hit a self-serve candy bar and filled takeout containers with M&M’s, Rock Candy Swizzle Sticks and Good & Plenty.
The couple plan to honeymoon at the Four Seasons Resort at Wailea.
