East Hampton, New York
Katie Couric married John Molner at her East Hampton, New York home on June 21, 2014.
The couple walked down the aisle together while a string quartet played the Broadway song “Til There Was You.”
Couric wore an ivory crystal beaded and embroidered Chantilly lace halter gown designed by Carmen Marc Valvo. She accessorized with jewels by Beladora including a 1930s Estate “Art Deco” diamond bracelet weighing 11 carats.
The couple wrote their own vows, and made promises “not to check email” during the wedding. Couric’s daughter, Ellie, read a love letter from Woodrow Wilson to his wife. Her daughter, Carrie, sang the Beatles’ “I Will.”
Wedding planner Elissa Held used peonies, roses, dahlias and hydrangeas to match the garden of Couric’s estate.
At the reception, dinner by Topping Rose House was served. The menu included mizuna salad with snap peas, dandelion agnolotti, lamb shank with polenta, and monkfish.
For dessert, a strawberry lemon cake was served paired with lemon thyme and strawberry sorbets.
The couple planned to honeymoon in Rome, Tuscany, Florence and Portofino.
