Los Angeles, California
Lance Bass married Michael Turchin on December 20, 2014.
The wedding took place at the Park Plaza Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
The theme of the wedding was Met Ball meets Royal Wedding.
The vows were planned by Sharon Sacks, who also planned Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding.
Among the 300 guests at the 15 minute ceremony were Bass’s ‘N Sync bandmates JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and AJ McLean. Also in attendance were Carmen Electra, Christina Applegate, Lisa Vanderpump and Kris Jenner.
The grooms wore custom tuxes they designed in collaboration with stylist Jeff Kim and Josh Yunger. They walked down the aisle as Bass’s friend Kelly Price sang the Christina Aguilera ballad “I Am.”
The wedding party consisted of the couple’s 3 dogs and supermodels serving as flower girls. The flower girls wore gowns by Oday Shakar.
The officiants for the wedding were Jamie Lynn Sigler and Joanna Garcia. The ceremony included traditions from Bass’s southern Baptist upbringing and Turchin’s Jewish heritage. The couple said their vows under a chuppah and broke glass at the conclusion.
They exchanged wedding bands by Turchin’s sister, Lauren Turchin.
For the reception, Bass changed into a hunter-green velvet jacket also designed by Jeff Kim.
His ‘N Sync bandmate JC Chasez performed a song for the first dance. He was followed by a live performance by Hope Leigh Rollins and DJ Tracy Young who spun tunes that got everyone on the dance floor.
The dinner was catered by Bucca di Bepo. The Italian style feast included salmon pesto, braised short ribs, pancetta-wrapped dates, ricotta gnudi and mini meatballs. Signature drinks were served in mason jars from a Moonshine Bar and had Southern-inspired names like “The Dolly” and “Mississippi Mule.”
The seven tiered wedding cake, by The Butter End Cakery, featured Turchin’s art work incorporated into the design. Also on the dessert menu was Steve’s Ice Cream and Dylan’s Candy Bar.
Bass and Turchin met in 2010 at a birthday party in Palm Springs. It is the first marriage for both.
