Allison Kornberg Walch’s Blog: Plan Your Own ‘Twilight’ Wedding

Get ideas on how to plan a Twilight-style wedding inspired by Bella and Edward’s “Breaking Dawn” nuptials.

Nothing gets me more excited than (1.) the movie “Twilight,” and (2.) weddings. Now that the two have joined forces with Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) marrying Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson) in “Breaking Dawn: Part 1” of the Twilight series, hitting theaters November 18, my mortal life is virtually complete.

Vera Wang

That’s why I’m dedicating today’s blog post to the matrimony of the most famous vampire/human pair. Infuse a smidge of Forks, Washington’s woodsy personality and celestial charm into your big day with the following inspiration cues. Trust me; it’s the wedding the afterlife will be buzzing about.

THE DRESS: Bella is no nonsense when it comes to fashion. Her choices are simple, if not tomboy-ish -she projects the most graceful kind of insouciance. We all know by now that the bride/vampire-to-be is wearing a dress by the classic Carolina Herrera. I’d secretly love to see her in this darker confection by Vera Wang.

THE INVITATION: In the couple’s wedding invitation simplicity reigns supreme: white with black writing with a gray border. Here’s a similar creation by Laura Hooper.Laura Hooper Wedding Invitation

THE VENUE: Why not go directly to the source? Check out Olympic National Parks’ wedding venues. The woodsy oasis is near Forks, Washington, where the Twilight books are based. At Lake Crescent Lodge, westerly views over the deep blue waters of Lake Crescent provide exceptional sunsets and a spectacular destination.

THE SOUNDTRACK: Make sure to include artists Iron and Wine, Muse, Paramour, Adele, The Black Ghosts, Linkin Park, Radiohead, Coldplay, My Chemical Romance, The Cranberries, and Bruno Mars on your playlist. Listen to Mars’ latest for the “Breaking Dawn: Part 1,” “It Will Rain.”

THE DÉCOR/FLORALS: To accomplish the mythical, uber-romantic feel of a wedding in the Cullen’s backyard, opt for white flowers (they used lots of blossoms), a foresty landscape, plenty of candles and a pop of vintage.

THE CAKE: Try something akin to this vintage-inspired creation with sugar blackberries, by Vanilla Bake Shop.

ACCESSORIES: Top off your bridal look with a vintage-inspired comb from Bride’s Head Revisited.

THE MAKEUP: Go for a natural, dewy look. And step away from the spray tan booth! In vampire territory, the paler the better. I suggest Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Mac Clear Lipglass and Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara.

You never thought it humanly possible to plan such a romantic wedding… until now.
