Prince Albert of Monaco married Charlene Wittstock in a religious ceremony on July 2, 2011.
The bride, a former Olympic swimmer, wore an off-white silk Duchesse Giorgio Armani Prive wedding dress with a 15-ft veil made of tulle. The gown was embellished with flowery embroidery and Swarovski crystals.
Wittstock completed her look with a “Diamond Spray” tiara by Lorenz Baumer that featured eleven encrusted diamond pears.
The groom wore a cream-colored summer uniform of the palace of the guards.
The wedding took place in the courtyard of the royal palace and the couple exchanged vows in French.
Guests included Karolina Kurkova, Naomi Campbell and Gerard Butler.
Following the nuptials. a ball was held at the Opera Garnier in Monaco.
Wittstock changed into an Armani Prive cocktail dress with a sheer top and four-tiered skirt for the occasion. The dress had 40,000 Swarovski crystals, and 20,000 mother of pearl tear drops.
Chef Alain Ducasse served a multi-course dinner for 450 guests which included fish and vegetables grown on the Prince’s farm. For dessert, a five-tiered cake was served, decorated with Proteas, South Africa’s national flower.
The couple honeymooned at the Oyster Box Hotel in South Africa.
