San Juan, Puerto Rico
“Without a Trace” star Roselyn Sanchez married actor Eric Winter on November 29, 2008 at Fort San Cristobal in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Two hundred and fifty guests were in attendance for the 5 p.m. nuptials, including Eva Longoria Parker, Poppy Montgomery, Emilano Murciano, Lily Cole, Jennifer Morrison and Amaury Nolasco. (Eva and Poppy hosted Roselyn’s wedding shower in Los Angeles earlier in the year.)
The bride arrived at the fort in a white Mercedes Benz, with the window rolled down for onlookers to catch a glimpse. She wore an embroidered, princess-style, Angel Sanchez gown, with hand-embroidered pearls and diamonds, paired with Christian Louboutin pumps. Her hair was pulled back and pinned with white gardenias. The groom wore a Calvin Klein suit.
Flower arrangements filled the fort, including 1,000 orange, ivory and pink roses and 1,000 pink and green hydrangeas. For the sunset ceremony, Chiavari chairs were set up in a semi-circle in the courtyard. Each was covered with an ivory sheet and brown band around the top.
The nuptials were officiated by the Rev. Pablo Aymat, and included vows in Spanish from the bride and English from the groom. Before being pronounced husband and wife, they illustrated their union by pouring sand from their home states of California and Puerto Rico into one vase.
Following the ceremony, guests were led through San Cristobal’s underground tunnels to a reception at the Hilton Carribean. Fireworks lit up the sky as the couple shared their first dance to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson. At the end of the first dance, guests were stunned when Sanchez and Winter broke into a choreographed salsa routine.
The reception’s five-course dinner included lobster medallions and filet mignon. For dessert, the couple served a six-tier cake of alternating layers of vanilla and cookies and cream, made by local bakery Azuarte.
The highlight of the evening was when Roselyn surprised Eric with a Latin rendition of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”
The newlyweds honeymooned at The Tides Riviera Maya.
