Sharon, South Carolina
Former “Bachelorette” Emily Maynard married Tyler Johnson at his family’s farm in Sharon, South Carolina on June 7, 2014.
Guests arrived for what they thought was an engagement party and were surprised to find out it was actually a wedding.
Planned by Ivy Robinson Events, the day featured rustic elegant decor and twinkle lights in the trees.
Maynard’s daughter, Ricki, helped line an aisle with lanterns for her mom to make her grand entrance.
Emily walked down that aisle to “Here Comes the Bride.” She wore a custom strapless soft pink wedding dress by Modern Trousseau with an ‘Eden’ lace bodice and romantic, tulle skirt. She completed the look with her favorite cowboy boots and a bouquet of pink peonies.
The couple said their vows under a 150-year-old white oak tree with lanterns hanging from the branches.
A reception followed in a clear tent for 200 guests. Wooden bars, farmhouse tables and chandeliers decorated the space. Centerpieces included white hydrangeas, and white and pink roses.
Moscow mules were served in copper mugs and the Southern-inspired menu included pickled shrimp, fried okra and mini cheese tarts, fried green tomatoes, macaroni and cheese and pulled pork.
The couple shared their first dance to “Marry Me” by Zachary Kale. Later in the evening, a live country band performed.
The four tiered pink and gold wedding cake was created by The Wow Factor Cakes. The confection included almond sponge cake made with raspberry and white chocolate, and lemon sponge cake with lemon curd and lemon mousse.
When guests departed at the end of the evening, they received burlap bags filled with local goodies like ONEHOPE coffee, Neet’s Sweets pies in a jar and all-natural cookies from Helen’s Kitchen.
