When fashionista Olivia Palermo married Johannes Huebl last year, we were in awe of her flawlessly unique wedding style. The Carolina Herrera look, which she styled herself, included a cream cashmere sweater incorporating “scattered ostrich feathers” with coordinating shorts and a full tulle skirt.
Now J. Crew has unveiled their own casual wedding style with the Laine sequin short ($450), shimmering shorts with hand-applied sequins for a slinky meets sporty look.
The brand’s director of wedding design Molly Schaul explains their take on bridal shorts, saying, “A lot of modern brides are always looking for something that will allow them to take a risk and be unique at their weddings but still keep that timeless aesthetic so they’ll be happy looking back at their photographs in 20 years. The shorts are a perfect option for beach weddings but also offer a really unique opportunity to be bold in a casual setting.”
