Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt used a yellow and white color palette for their spring wedding in Pasadena, California. Inspired by their colors, we decided to take a closer look at ways to use yellow and white.

Invitations: Yellow and white wedding invitations can set the mood for charming and cheerful weddings. Ceci New York and Hello Lucky have a great selection of invitations, save the dates, place cards and thank you notes that fit perfectly with this palette.

Flowers: Yellow and white are clean, celebratory colors that can be easily grounded with green, black, brown or purple accents. When thinking about wedding flowers, yellow, specifically can be great for casual weddings, using daffodils, tulips or alyssum mixed with spring green for an earthy feel. White, when used alone is formal. However, flowers like white roses, peonies and hydrangeas can be mixed with soft yellow complements to create something more relaxed.

Attire: With the bride wearing white, yellow bridesmaid dresses can be a great accent color for the bridal party. Heidi chose yellow bridesmaid dresses from BCBG that looked great with rose and hydrangea bouquets. The yellow Nanette Leopore bridesmaid dresses, featured in the movie “I Love You Man,” went well with the J. Crew wedding dress worn by the bride. For the groom, try a yellow calla lily or orchid boutonniere which will look nice with black, khaki and white suits.

Decor: Use centerpieces made with lemons or limes for a fresh and clean look. Hang lanterns above the dance floor in different shades of yellow and white like these from Luna Bazaar.  Serve a yellow signature drink like a lemon drop or mango mojito which is a fun way to incorporate color.

Favors: Provide yellow and white flip flops near the dance floor for tired feet, and wrap favors in yellow and white polka dots boxes.
